Apple Sandwich


You can make a nutritious sandwich without bread.  It is so simple, all you need is an apple and some nut butter, I used almond butter!
 Cut the apple into 1/4 inch thick slices, no need to peel them.  Depending on the size of the apple you should end up with at least 8 slices.
 Add some nut butter to one slice and top that with another slice of equal size.
MMMMMM, looks good.  

Have a bite.
The kids love them!  You can also experiment with other fruits in season.  Bananas, pears, anything that makes a firm slice would work!  All of you out there who are counting carbs, well this is so low on the carb scale my type 1 daughter has it for free.  If you had a whole apples worth with 2 tablespoons of almond butter you are looking at about 20g of carbs, not bad.
